Does the preliminary exam score count towards final selection?

No, the preliminary exam score does not factor into the final merit list at all. The Prelims is purely a qualifying round that RBI uses to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam. General and OBC category candidates need to pay Rs. 450/- plus 18% GST as the application fee. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories only need to pay Rs. 50/- plus 18% GST. RBI staff members do not need to pay any application fee at all. Payment can be made through net banking, credit card, or debit card. The application fee is non-refundable once paid, so candidates should make sure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
