The Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff (SSC MTS) Exam is, without a doubt, a nationally recognized competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC MTS Exam Pattern 

The SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Exam is conducted in two stages:

1. Paper 1 (Computer-Based Test – CBT)

This is an objective-type exam conducted online. In addition, it is divided into two sessions, both of which are mandatory. Therefore, failure to attend any session will result in disqualification. Furthermore, it is essential to prepare adequately for each session to ensure success. Ultimately, your participation in both sessions is crucial for the overall evaluation.

  • The exam consists of a total of 90 questions carrying 270 marks.

  • Questions will be set in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages.

2. PET/PST (Only for Havaldar Post)

Candidates applying for the Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN must undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).

Candidates applying for the Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN are required to undergo PET and PST after qualifying in the CBE. 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Requirements:

  • Male Candidates:
    • Walking: 1.6 kilometers in 15 minutes.​
    • Cycling: 8 kilometers in 30 minutes. ​
  • Female Candidates:
    • Walking: 1 kilometer in 20 minutes.​
    • Cycling: 3 kilometers in 25 minutes. 

Physical Standard Test (PST) Requirements:

  • Male Candidates:
    • Height: 157.5 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for certain categories).​
    • Chest: 76 cm (with minimum expansion of 5 cm).​
  • Female Candidates:
    • Height: 152 cm (relaxable by 2.5 cm for certain categories). 

Important Notes:

  • Candidates who fail to qualify PET/PST will not be considered for the Havaldar post. However, based on their performance in the CBE, they may still be considered for the MTS post.
  • The PET/PST is only applicable to candidates applying for the Havaldar post; it is not required for MTS posts. ​
