IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2026 

  • Graduation: The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India. An equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government is also acceptable. The final graduation result must be officially declared on or before 21 August 2026. Candidates must have a valid mark sheet, degree certificate, or provisional certificate when registering, and must enter their graduation percentage in the application form. 
  • Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory. Candidates should possess a certificate, diploma or degree in computer operations or computer language. However, a separate computer certificate may not be required if the candidate studied Computer Science, Information Technology or a related computer subject in school, college or another recognised institution. Supporting documents must be produced when required. 
  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the specified local language of the State or Union Territory for which they apply. They should be able to read, write, speak and understand that language. Applicants who studied the selected local language in Class 10 or above must provide the relevant mark sheet or certificate. Other candidates may have to undergo the Local Language Proficiency Test before joining the allotted bank. 

IBPS Clerk Age Limit 2026 

The age of candidates will be calculated as of 1 August 2026. Applicants must satisfy the prescribed minimum and maximum age requirements. However, candidates belonging to reserved and special categories can claim relaxation in the upper age limit according to government rules.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official IBPS website. Follow these steps to complete the application: 

  • Visit the official IBPS website at www.ibps.in.
  • Open the CRP Customer Service Associates section available on the homepage.
  • Click on the link titled “Online Application for CRP CSA-XVI.”
  • Select “Click Here for New Registration” and enter your name, mobile number, email address and other basic details.
  • Note the provisional registration number and password sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
  • Log in and enter your personal, educational, category and communication details carefully.
  • Select the State or Union Territory for which you wish to apply. Once submitted, this choice cannot be changed.
  • Choose participating banks in your preferred order. Candidates should check their bank preferences carefully before submitting them.
  • Upload the required photograph, signature, left-thumb impression, handwritten declaration and other prescribed documents in the specified format.
  • Preview the application form and verify all the information entered. Correct any errors before completing the registration.
  • Pay the application fee online using a debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, UPI or supported mobile wallet.
  • Submit the application form and download the generated e-receipt.
  • Save and print the completed application form and payment receipt for future reference. Candidates do not need to send a printed copy to IBPS.

Selection Process of IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026 

The selection process for IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026 consists of the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Local Language Proficiency Test. There is no interview for the Customer Service Associate post. Therefore, candidates must perform well in the online examinations and satisfy the language requirement of their selected State or Union Territory. 

Preliminary Examination 

First, candidates must appear for the online Preliminary Examination. It includes English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must qualify in each test by securing the cut-off marks determined by IBPS.

Main Examination 

Candidates who clear the preliminary stage can appear for the online Main Examination. It covers General or Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude.

The marks obtained in the Main Examination are used for provisional allotment. Therefore, candidates must secure the required sectional and overall cut-offs. If the examination is conducted in multiple sessions, IBPS may normalise candidates’ scores using its prescribed method.

Local Language Proficiency Test
